Project Description

We recently handled a targeted flat roof repair for a resident on Devonshire Road in Forest Hill, just a short distance from the Horniman Museum. The property had a modern rear extension with an EPDM rubber roof that, unfortunately, was punctured by a fallen branch during high winds. This small breach was allowing water to get in, threatening the homeowner’s newly renovated kitchen below.

Our local specialists arrived promptly to look at the damage. Rather than suggesting an unnecessary full replacement, we performed a high-quality and localised repair. We cleaned the area and applied an EPDM patch with heavy-duty bonding adhesive. This provided a chemically welded and watertight seal that matched the existing membrane. We also took the time to clear the internal drainage outlets, which had become partially blocked with debris, ensuring that rainwater could once again flow freely off the roof.

“I was really stressed out as I thought we might need a whole new roof,” the customer said. “The guys at CNEM were great. They came out to see it the next day and fixed the puncture perfectly, there and then. It’s rare to find roofers who are this upfront about what actually needs fixing!”
